It really doesn’t need to cost you a lot of money to make moms happy on Mother’s Day. We’ve done a lot of research here and here are the top 9 things that Moms really want on Mother’s Day! Of course, letting them know how much you love them and appreciate them matters too.

Top 9 Things Mom Really Want on Mother’s Day

What Moms really want on Mothers Day

1) A Day Off with No Guilt

What Mom would not want a day all.by.herself. Some prefer a day in her own house while others want to take off for the day by leaving the home. The key is that Mom gets to decide what she wants to do and with NO Guilt. For some, they want to wake up on their own, have some coffee, get in an interrupted workout and maybe read a book with some wine. Sounds pretty divine doesn’t it. Others may want to leave dodge and hang out with friends or go solo. See what SHE wants to do and then indulge her with a day off with no guilt to do whatever it is that Mom wants to do.

2) A Clean House

Imagine giving Mom a day off with no guilt and upon her return, her house is clean. And imagine her surprise if you gave that house of hers a really deep clean. She will be blown away and all moms deserve to be blown away on Mother’s Day.

3) Sleep

Moms never get enough of it and we literally dream of getting more sleep. Indulge mom by letting her sleep in and there is no need to wake her up to bring her breakfast in bed. When she is ready to wake up, she will come downstairs all by herself. If she is home with you for the day, you can even encourage her to take a nap later in the day. She’ll love you for it. And if she doesn’t want to sleep, there is something so indulgent about lying in bed mid-day without a thing to do and remember no guilt.

4) A Hotel Room (all by herself)

If your budget and time allows, book a hotel room for her all by herself. It doesn’t have to be fancy just clean. She would love the ability to be alone, order some room service, workout at the hotel gym and just be. This is a fan favorite gift for mom that she really wants. She may not even know she wants it but once she has experienced this, it may be a top mother’s day gift going forward.

5) Her Car Detailed

If her car looks anything like my car (4 kids here), it could use a great car wash and even better a detail. We are often so busy in the day to day living that our car doesn’t get the attention it deserves (just like mom). I often say that my car could feed a family of five with all the crumbs on the floor sometimes. Trust me when I tell you that she would love to come home from her night in a hotel to a detailed car or even just a vacuumed out car. It’s the little things, right?

6) No Fighting and No Arguing (all day long)

This, this right here is something that every mom wants on mother’s day and frankly all year long. Let’s also add in No Questions on this Mother’s Day too. Please kids–no fighting and no arguing on mom’s special day. Good, good!

7) All Laundry Done (and put away)

Send in the laundress for the day. If you really want to spoil mom, help her all the time with the laundry. This is by far one of the biggest things moms dread because the laundry never ever ends. Everyone can pitch in and get all the laundry in the house cleaned and then put away. Yes, putting it away is just as important as folding it. There is nothing worse than seeing your perfectly folded clothes not away. One time I found my son’s folded clothes in his bathtub after he told me he put them away! So annoying…. give reminders to all those kids that clean laundry belongs in the proper drawers– that is what it means to put laundry away. Give mom a gift that she will love with help with the laundry.

8) A Spa Day

Give mom the day off and book her some activities at the spa. Pamper her with a facial and a massage. As moms we are constantly taking care of others and it is so nice once in awhile to be pampered and to feel special. All moms deserve to feel pampered and cared for.

9) No Responsibilities (all day long)

Don’t ask her for anything, don’t expect her to do anything all day long. I know it sounds hard but you can do it. I bet you’ll have a great appreciation for all moms do for you when you have to restrain yourself for one day. Give moms this gift and they will love you for it.

I hope these 9 ideas will help you find some things that will make your special mom in your life feel very loved and special. And don’t forget to also indulge her with hugs and kisses too and a homemade card. It truly is the little things.
